Killing a Man in the Dark

I think this is during one of the trench raids.  I have a man pinned against the wall of the trench.  I have a hand over his mouth and my bayonet is in his stomach.  I hear him groan and I tell him that I'm sorry.  I don't want to kill him, but if I don't my friends will die.
