Memory of flying and increasing altitude.
"I am distracted as I fly. It is a beautiful day. I am ascending with cumulus clouds overhead, and my mind is wandering.
It is so peaceful up here. I am flying with a couple of other planes, but they are a little distance away.
We are not expecting to see activity.
Suddenly out of the clouds, swoops down a plane with huge circles, like "eyes" underneath the wings.
I think its going to hit me. I look back to see it just miss the tail of my aircraft.
The pilot in the other plane is probably as shocked as I am. My adrenaline is pumping.
It must have been descending through the clouds and couldn't see me. It takes a while for me to recover.
By then the plane is gone. This experience really shook me up.
I later find out that those "eyes," the circle insignia of the British planes, were indeed placed under each wing.
