On Leave-Easter 1917
"We have just come out of church, and I am waiting on a bench outside for my family.
I am feeling isolated and wondering why I can not communicate with my father.
An older man sits next to me- it is my Grandfather, or an elderly uncle.
He has much affection for me, and is proud of me. I feel warmed by his presence.
He tells me. "I hope you know how special you are to us. We are so proud of you."
I feel better, just having him sitting there with me. He is a wonderful man whom I have felt close to throughout my childhood.
My clouds start to lift."
