Memories of Home as a child
"I see a model of a two seater wooden plane. There is no varnish on it, and it is made of very solid smooth wood. A man I know is holding it. It is very heavy. I believe it to be a gift for me- but it isn't quite finished yet. I am excited"

"I am rocking furiously on a huge wooden rocking horse. I am in a hypnotic state. I am imagining myself riding into battle, charging and galloping. The movements of the horse are rhythmic, powerful and comforting. I rock backwards and forwards, for a long time. The wood on the horse is stained and not painted. The horse is a golden oak color, while the saddle and mane are redwood. It has a wooden tail not hair."

"It is early morning and I am snuggled up with Luisa, my little sister. She is about 2 years old. This is a wonderful feeling. She is warm and soft. I stroke her hair as she sleeps."

"I'm saying goodbye to my mother and sister at the railway station. There was a cable car that took us to the station. My father arrives late and is complaining about having to wait for the cable car. (He is too stubborn to buy a car). There are other soldiers at the station. I feel proud and yet awkward, having to say goodbye in such a public place. My mother is practical and not at all emotional. My sister is concerned. My father is flustering around, organizing things. After the train pulls away from the station I feel very alone."
