In a re-occuring flash of memory is Frau Voss catching me at Margret's bedroom door during the afternoon. I'm dressed in uniform since that's generally all I had and she takes me by the left ear and leads me down the hallway. She is very matter of fact about it and her attitude is humorous yet very serious. She leads me to the door of my guest room and stops me there. Mildly she scolds me to go take a nap like everyone else. And not to disturb Margret. I'm amused and somewhat amazed that she would think that I would do anything wrong. I generally try to make a good impression, but I guess Frau Voss was more observant than I realized. I submit to my hostess's wishes and go into my room and take a nap. I think later I am awakened by Margret and we go downstairs. |
