Memories of Margret Rose Voss
margretnew One of the few regrets that I have from my life as Manfred von Richthofen was dying before I could be a real husband and father. Margret and I married in February of 1918 in southern Germany where we honeymooned. My father was against the marriage. Margret was a few months pregnant, so I didn’t have any time to persuade him. When I met her I was to the point in my life where I thought I would never met a woman that would capture my heart. I loved many women, but none of them made me feel the way Margret made me feel. I found myself stumbling over furniture, walking into trees and walls, and accidently pouring ice water into my lap whenever she was around. She was so lovely and graceful. I am surprised that Werner didn’t kill me for falling in love with his younger sister. I still love her.
