Looking through these memories you will find events that are the result of men bonding and the need to grasp on to life as much as possible. We acted like children at times and did things that our parents would have frowned upon, but we did risk our lives everyday and some of us never returned. Times were wilder than what historians want us to believe and the events of World War I shaped the world events to come, especially World War II. Those of us who recall being German saw things happen to the men around us, and many of us suspect that the movement that would become the National Socialist Party had slowly begun showing it's insidious presence during the Great War. It wasn't a German thing its was something.... something bigger than a nationalistic point of view. In this section of my memories I will share the best, worst, and oddest of times I shared with men whom I respected and cared greatly for despite what some historians may think.
