Lazy Morning Memory

It is morning about 10 am or so. The sky is clear bright blue. I am sitting on a balcony or porch. There is a table with chairs. I think I may be reading a newspaper and having coffee or tea. The building, I have seen in other past memories. It is several stories tall and is grey stone brick work. I can't tell whether it is home or that chateau. It is a very peaceful morning and I am enjoying the sunlight, the quiet, and simply being outside. The furniture appears to be metal painted white. I am also in uniform and my hat is sitting on the table. My feet are crossed and up on one of the chairs.

No one else is out there with me. I almost get the impression that this could be a hotel. The balcony has a lovely view of a front area of a broad lawn with circular driveway and lots of trees and flowers. It looks very well kept up. I can see a hazy area off to the southeast that I think is a city or town. I feel completely relaxed and at ease. A very nice feeling. For some reason I pull out my pocket watch and check the time. It is either 10 am or 10 minutes til 12 noon. I leave the watch on the table open.

The sun is awfully high in the sky. It must be almost noon now. (I think a passage of time has passed since the beginning of the memory.) The porch area seems much brighter. I fold up the newspaper and remove my feet from the other chair. I get up and lay the folded paper down. I straighten my uniform jacket and trousers. I pick up my watch and then my hat. I put the hat firmly on my head. The leather part is warm. I don't really feel like wearing it, but the visor does shade my eyes from the sunlight.

I lean on the stone/concrete veranda wall that has small columns in the design. I lean on my elbows and look out for a moment not really seeing anything. I just look. I feel a bit restless. I need to go somewhere. I pull out my pocket watch again. It is 12 noon. I leave the balcony area and go inside the double doors. It was warm and nice out, so I guess that's why the doors were open. Inside it is suddenly dark and I can't see too well.

I am confused right now. I keep seeing different rooms. Some of which I know are not in this building.
- a bedroom described earlier
- a large hotel style dining room
- and the Voss library room at the Voss family home.
